She enjoys spending quality time with her family, watching movies and relaxing while getting a massage at the spa.

Ms. Christy has over 16 years of experience in child care starting fresh out of high school in 1999.  “It was suppose to be a summer Job” as she puts it, however she fell in love with her profession and the rest is history.”

She later earned her CDA and director’s credentials from Lake Technical Center in Tavares Florida and had the opportunity to work with the ones, twos and threes.   In 2006 she came to be part of our FCCPS family where she continued to teach the three year old class.  She later felt called to the more administrative side of her career in 2008 when she became FCCPS’s assistant director.

Now as our preschool director she is excited to welcome our families and together with Ms. Denissa, our assistant director and teaching staff, continue to maintain a loving and save learning environment with experienced and caring teachers in which children can grow and maximize their learning potential.

She loves that technology has facilitated school staff and parent-teacher interaction and the role that parents can play in their children’s education.  Ms. Denissa was able to accomplish this in the past as a teacher herself with her class Facebook page, which gave parents the opportunity to have an inside look into their children’s learning environment.  Her goal as assistant director is to work together with Ms. Christy, our preschool director, to bring new fresh ideas that can help families and teachers save time in their busy lives as they strive to maintain the open lines of communication needed  for the children’s health a well being.

Ms. Tonya especially loves to give children an interactive learning experience that enables them to overcome their shyness, (e.g.) role playing and performing in Biblical stories during Chapel.  She also believes that this is a great tool to teach children the Bible stories.  Her goal is to give them a better understanding of the scriptures and the good news of the Gospel which is God’s love for us.

Her main goal is to give her students the academic and social skills in the early formative years that will help build a strong foundation going into Kindergarten and early years of elementary school.

During her high school years, Ms. Joselyn attended the Littlest Knights pre-k program at East Ridge High which initiated her interest and love in early child care.  While in this program, she worked with ages 3 through 5 and was able to learn how to assist and lead teach as well as create her own lesson plans.  One of the many advantages of this program that she mostly enjoyed was the one-on-one interaction with the children.  This gave the children the necessary help needed to work at their own pace, reaching their milestone before moving on to the next learning stage of growth and development.

This year she looks forward to continue on with our FCCPS family and use her skills to make a difference in each child she is blessed to know.

Her goal as a teacher is to make sure that by the end of their time with her they are set with the right tools to move on to their next stage of their growth and development.

She uses her spare time for her pets which are many and range from pigs, dogs, and cats to bunnies, hamsters, etc.  She also loves to visit the Disney parks.  Epcot is her favorite because of the multicultural scenery and foods.

Ms. Alyssa enjoys working with our youngest ones here at FCCPS, especially the crawlers whom she says “never stop surprising her because of how fast they learn and absorb everything she teaches them.”  She looks forward to playing a integral role in helping children excel in every capacity and is excited at the opportunity that being part of our team will afford her to maximize her experience for her future career as a teacher.

Ms. Haley- One Year Old Teacher:

Ms Haley was born in Central Florida and has lived here all her life.

She is the youngest of seven siblings and mother of a daughter Gabriella so family time is very important to her.

She is very artistic so in her spare time she loves to explore with painting, arts and craft and doing nails.  She also loves to read and history is her favorite genre.

Since becoming a mother herself, Ms. Haley loves being around children because she feels that if you can be a positive influence at a young age teaching them good morals, positive character building and show them that someone is always there to listen, she would have accomplished one of the most important goals in their growing years: To walk with a purpose anywhere that life may lead them.

Ms. Luz- Lead VPK Teacher:

who is an Orange County Sherriff’s Officer.  She is also a mother of two girls Vanessa and Eileen.  In her spare time she loves to cook, go work out at the gym and do her Zumba class.  She also has a small side business: “A little Bit of Heaven” which is a creation of her very delicious cake pops.

Ms. Veronica earned her degree in accounting from Suny Community College and worked as an accountant for eight years before starting her young family.  She felt that the corporate world was taking too much time away from her family, so she decided to be a stay at home mom for a while.

One of the many experiences she has enjoyed in her life with her children is to see their imagination at work.

Ms. Veronica strongly believes that allowing a child’s imagination to flourish is key to forming the blue print for a strong foundation to future learning experiences.  She also feels that as adults, we could learn from children to be more imaginative, step out of our comfort zone, and expand our horizons.  For only as we learn to be relational from a child’s perspective can we learn from them to use the appropriate tools that will in turn help them learn and grow in the early formative years.

This year she is very excited to join our team at FCCPS as a VPK aid where she hopes to help the lead teacher to use the necessary tools to implement a safe and fun learning environment in which each child can learn and grown but most importantly feel loved and cared for.

Working with or around children has been a blessing in Ms. Peaches’ life.  As a teacher in the past one of her favorite times was to experience the world through a young children’s lives as they first start to learn about the world around them.  She especially enjoyed the “surprise” moments as she calls them that would give her a window into each a child’s wonderous imagination.

Her goal this year as a VPK teacher, is to assist in the many challenging aspects of running an organized but fun class and work as a team together with her co-teacher to facilitate creative learning experiences that are engaging and age appropriate for every individual child.

Ms. Jenessa- Teacher in the Three Year Old Class:

Born and raised in Newberg Oregon, Ms. Janessa moved to Anchorage Alaska where she met and married her husband Shawn.  She is the mother of a little boy, Rashawn and daughter Lily.

During free time she loves knitting, spending time with her family, and visiting theme parks.

One of the many things she loves about being a preschool teacher is to teach children about art and exploration.  She believes that children learn best through their senses and what better way to do this than to use their imagination while creating and exploring?

Ms. Jenessa also focuses on the social-emotional side of a child’s growth and development.  She likes to provide Bible based activities and learning opportunities that allow children to use God’s scriptures as a guide to better understand and relate to the social issues of today.

Ms. Alexis-Teacher in crawkers’ Room:

Born in Celebration FL, Ms. Alexis lived in the Kissimmee Orlando Area until about the age of ten when she moved to Clermont, Fl.  She attended Minneola High and graduated in 2017.  She later received her Associate of Arts in 2018 and will be attending UCF for her bachelor’s degree.

Ms. Alexis is one of seven siblings, four boys and 4 girls including her.  She is especially close to her brothers and loves to spend her time with them and her dogs Layla and Luca.  She also loves photography and reading.

Her prior employment was assistant to attorney Patrick L. Smith for the Law Offices of Joseph F. Pippen.  She joined our team here at FCCPS on a part time basis on January of 2019 and has been working with the one-year-old class ever since.

One of her favorite experiences with this age group is being a part of their different stages of growth and development, (E.g.) from crawling to walking and forming their first sounds as well as mimicking sounds.  For this reason, one of her favorite activities is interactive reading.  Not only is that time an opportunity for her to share her love of reading, but she believes it is the conduit to develop a child’s creativity, language skills, and overall cognitive development.

This new school year she is looking forward to meeting her new little ones and starting the process of helping to develop those very important skills that will help them grow and move up to their next step of physical growth and cognitive learning.

After having her second child she decided to take time off to be with her children.  She joined our team this year and is very excited to be a part of our FCCPS family as one of our infants’ teachers.

Ms. Katie loves to be with “her babies” as she puts it and her favorite moments are when she gets to hug and cuddle them while putting them to sleep.  She believes that physical contact starting at the infant stage is integral to a baby’s well-being and happiness since separation anxiety starts early on.

Her goal is to give her little ones’ families the peace of mind in knowing their babies are being loved and cared for as they grow and learn in these very early formative years.

Ms. Hannah-Teacher’s Assistant:

Ms. Hannah was born in Lake County and has lived in

the Central Florida area all her life.  She is one of seven siblings, two boys and five girls.  She was home-schooled and was in the graduating class of 2019.

In her spare time Ms. Hannah loves to read and going to the movies with friends.  She especially loves the comics and Marvel movies.  She loves films and hopes to pursue this as a career option.

Ms. Hannah has a large family, Pastor Rick from our church at Family Christian Center is her uncle and she is one of seven children, two boys and five girls.

Being the second oldest of seven siblings, she has had an opportunity to help look after them giving her the life skills and knowledge that can be helpful with younger children.  Ms. Hannah is very excited to have joined our team here at FCCPS.  Her goal is to help our teachers give our students a safe and loving learning environment that will implement the use of age appropriate tools necessary for each child to grow and prosper at this early stage of their development.

Ms. Kyleigh- Teacher in the One Year Old Class:

Born in Orlando Florida Ms. Kyleigh has lived most of her life in central Florida.  She is the oldest of five, three girls and two boys.

In her spare time Ms. Kyleigh loves to go to the movies and spend time with family.  She loves music as well, plays the ukulele, the violin and has been part of musical theater productions and choir.

Ms. Kyleigh has also helped in children’s ministry and has been a babysitter for friends of family members.  Being the oldest of five siblings and helping to take care of them has also given her an opportunity to develop certain skill sets that she feels she can use in her new position at our preschool.

One of Ms. Kyleigh’s favorite things to share with her age group is music and circle time.  She feels it is a great time for them to explore with their senses in order to better interact with each other and learn about the world around them. She also believes music and movement is a great way for them to develop language and gross motor skills which are so important in the early years.    Her goal is to help her co-teacher give the children a safe and fun learning environment in which to grow and learn.

Ms. Dominique- Teacher’s Assistant:

Born in Massachusetts, Ms. Dominique moved to Central Florida in 2004.  She is the proud mom of a little boy Nicko.

In her free time, she loves to garden, swim and read.  One of her favorite things to do {When there is time, a she puts it) is travel by cruise and visit new places.  Two of her favorite destinations are Puerto Rico and Tortola.

Ms. Dominique attended First Academy in Orlando during her middle school years.  She was later home-schooled during her Freshman and Sophomore years, then attended dual enrolled classes at Valencia during her last years of High school until she graduated in 2012.

Her prior work experience has been in the restaurant and property management sector.  Growing up she gained quite a bit of experience with younger children while baby sitting and helping to raise her little brother Cedric.  Being a mom herself she has enjoyed the different stages of growth in a child’s life during the early years, so the infant class is her favorite group so far.  She loves to see the rapid changes that take place at this stage with all their “firsts” as she calls it. Their first sounds, crawling, or steps as well as their individual personalities starting to take shape.

She is very excited to have joined our FCCPS team where she looks forward to be a part of each child’s learning step that will bring him/her closer into a future love of learning.

During her younger years she was home-schooled all they way through 9th grade then went to Lincoln High School in Tallahassee from 10th to her senior year.  After graduation she attended Tallahassee Community College then finished her associates in Valencia Community College then earned her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education at UCF.
